Lap 2 Incident at “Too Tough To Tame” Darlington ends Race for Roderick

DARLINGTON, S.C. (May 11, 2012)

“Doug and Linda K. Epling sponsored Casey in a second of three races provide not only sponsorship from the West Virginia Miners baseball team, but also enough sponsorship to provide the big Chevrolet motor for him.

Darlington Raceway is known as “Too Tough To Tame” or “The Lady in Black”.  Friday night proved it to be true for Roderick. Unfortunately, on Lap 2, Blaney lost control off the second corner and slapped the outside wall with the right-rear, tearing sheetmetal from the rear of his #36.  The chain reaction, multi-car pile up left Roderick with a busted radiator that couldn’t be repaired.

Roderick who piloted the No. 24 Chevy of SR2 Motorosports was disappointed the night ended had a broken radiator that could not be repaired.
